Men Is Poor Without Knowledge.
Sorry for not updating much... I have to admit, i've gotten real sloppy and lazy.Well... On the other hand, i just had an interesting encounter with a taxi driver on the way home last night.
When i got in, he was speaking surprisingly fluent English (No offense to the other cabbies out there who doesn't..!) and after engaging with him in small talk... I kinda found myself thinking, : "Damn.... This guy is pretty dam well learned." So naturally, i went ahead to complement him about it.
And he told me, : "Due to the nature of my old job, i have to be well-learned." Which kind of piqued my curiosity so i probed a little further. Turns out, the withered old man driving a cabby was actually a civil servant for the government last time, and he was doing Research and Development for technology. Military defense technology to be precise.
I got a little impudent and said, : "What is a man of your stature doing driving a cab...?" Turns out the nature of his job requires him to retire early. Which got me thinking, : "What a sad fucking world."
A man with his wealth of knowledge could prove to be so beneficial but he got restrained by the very superficial "ritual" of booting out the old. And instead, we are forced to accept the fact that we would need to rely more younger "foreign talents" for experience.
ALRIGHT... I'm done with my Ah-Pek-Kopitiam-Ranting.
